Hi my name is Jack. Let me explain what got me here.
I have always played business simulation/strategy games but my favorite were ones that were text and menu based. For example, think Extreme Warfare Revenge (now Total Extreme Wrestling), Chart Wars 3, or Hollywood Mogul. I love the data driven aspects of these games.
Ever since I was a teenager I always thought it would cool to develop a business simulation game like the ones I’ve mentioned. It’s been a thing of my bucket list for a couple decades now. As time moved on, I was consumed by modern life… you know – work, bills, commitments.
That brings us up until recent years. I have been blessed with the one ingredient that changed everything… FREE TIME! Since this, I have been studying, learning, practicing and building my skills across the board… programming, design, databases… you name it.
The thing that has taught me the most besides the tutorials and textbooks, is actually creating and developing… I then got to the stage that I felt confident enough to commence my major project… my ‘basket of eggs’. I successfully created a prototype for what is now known as Late Night Empire… which is now in the pre-alpha stage.
Late Night Empire is a simulation game that immerses players in the dynamic world of late-night television show production. In LNE, players assume the role of an executive producer tasked with the challenge of creating and managing their very own late-night talk show. This entails a wide array of responsibilities, from booking celebrities and musical guests to engaging in staff negotiations and managing the show’s budget. Players must navigate the complexities of the entertainment industry, making strategic decisions to boost the show’s ratings and popularity. The game combines elements of strategy, management, and creativity, offering players a unique glimpse into the behind-the-scenes workings of a late-night talk show. LNE appeals to both fans of simulation games and enthusiasts of the television production world, providing an immersive experience that challenges players to think critically and creatively as they rise to become the ultimate late-night talk show mogul.
So this is my ‘basket of eggs’. I will frequently post updates on this page as development continues…
